Central Naugatuck Valley Regional Action Council
The membership of the CNVRAC is meant to reflect the twelve communities and constituencies that it serves. In order to maintain a balanced representation of each of the twelve towns in the service area, membership should include at least one person who lives or works in each town. Membership includes chief elected officials, chief law enforcement officials, superintendents of schools and general assembly members or their representatives, substance abuse providers from the service area, as well as one representative from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services or the Department of Children and Families.  Membership may also include, but is not limited to, representatives from the business community, religious organizations, youth service bureaus, the media, youth and adult consumers, local prevention council members, health care professionals, other professional groups and state agencies. 

At the Annual Meeting of the CNVRAC held on June 15, 2007 the following members were in attendance:

CNVRAC Steering Committee
The purpose of the Steering Committee is to control and manage the affairs and funds of the CNVRAC. Though under fiduciary, and therefore legally governed by the Board of Directors of the Family Intervention Center, Regional Action Councils were created to be at the service of the communities that they support. The Steering Committee of the CNVRAC is comprised of an Executive Committee: Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer, as well as Chairpersons of each of the Standing Committees of the CNVRAC, and up to six additional at-large members.

At the Annual Meeting of the CNVRAC, held on June 15, 2007, the following members were in attendance and/or elected to the Steering Committee:

  • Chairman: Celia Urbano – Assistant to the Director, Naugatuck Youth Services

  • Vice-Chairman: Gina Ash – Grants Director, Town of Prospect

  • Secretary: Michelle Piccerillo– Director, Cheshire Youth & Social Services

  • Treasurer: Kelly Cronin – Executive Director, Waterbury Youth Service System

  • Mary Kate Mason – DMHAS Prevention Unit

  • Leo Bulvanoski–First Selectman, Bethlehem

  • Jeremy Rodorigo – American Medical Response & Resident, Beacon Falls

  • Mary Raiola – Director of Special Services, Watertown Board of Education

  • Ronald J. Pugliese, Jr. – Patrolman, Naugatuck Police Department

  • Eileen Russo – Substance Abuse Treatment Consultant

  • Prevention Committee Chair: Jill Fontanella, Social Worker, Wolcott High School


CNVRAC Prevention Committee
The purpose of the Prevention Committee is to assist the Executive Director in assessing prevention needs and assets in the Central Naugatuck Valley; to develop, implement, and evaluate an Annual Substance Prevention Plan; and to promote the development and coordination of needed prevention services in the area.  Members of the Prevention Committee meet for the purpose of networking, resource development, and collaboration of efforts.
